Lace to me is always reminiscent of something from the Victorian era, think Palace de Versailles and Marie Antoinette.
It’s amazing how something as simple as lace can completely transform an outfit, and add that extra ‘je ne sais quoi’.
When working with lace, unless it’s bridal, or couture of course – you don’t want to go too overboard.
Wearing lace as an accent, whether it’s trimming along the bottom of a pair of shorts, or as a cap sleeve; is a great way to introduce lace into your closet if you’ve never worn it before.
Incorporating a piece with peek-a-boo lace is probably one of my favourite things.
Here are some street style inspirations to start working lace into your wardrobe, enjoy!

I’m a new fan of lace. I think it makes clothing very feminine, sexy yet sophisticated yet playful all at the same time. It help with trying to achieve a vintage look too. I just feel that it has so much potential as a fabric depending on how it is used and then how a garment with it included is styled.
I blogged a while back about a simple navy eyelash knit sweater I bought and how the addition of two rows of off white deep vintage feel lace to the bottom made it feel so pretty and girly and fun. It was just a sweater without it.
There are some fab looks here. Lace has evolved.
I am a huge fan of mixing hard and soft looks.
I love all the looks. I love black lace tops there so glamorous and yet simple. You can’t go wrong with lace!
I hardly ever pay attention to fashion trends, as anyone can see with my jeans, workout pants and hoodies I wear every day. But yesterday I was shopping with a friend and she kept pointing out lace, and now these pictures, I love it. Maybe I will even trade in my hoodie for some lace. Thanks
