D.I.Y Lemon Sugar Scrub
Lemon Sugar Scrub is a really easy and quick D.IY. that uses only 3 ingredients. It’s a gift that both men and women accept happily! The sugar in the scrub exfoliates away dead and dry skin, and the coconut oil leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
1/4 cup of coconut oil
1 lemon
First microwave 1/4 cup of coconut oil for about 45 seconds. If the oil doesn’t fully melt try stirring it or microwave for an additional 15-30 seconds. Be careful when taking it out not to burn yourself.
Pour the coconut oil over 2 cups of the granulated sugar. Mix the ingredients well and then add the additional 1/2 cup of sugar.
Remove the zest and juice from one lemon.
Pour the lemon juice and zest into the sugar/coconut mix and mix well. You don’t want the mix to be too dry, if it is add more lemon juice (or a touch of oil if you used all your lemon).
I bought small glass jars from the dollar store that I could put the sugar scrub in.
I made custom labels for the jars from blank folder labels that I also purchased at the dollar store.
You can also add cute ribbon or bows to customize for any occasion!
Enjoy!

D.I.Y. Sea Salt Face Scrub
I have been using Proactive products for over 4 years now. It’s a great product, but I find it only works efficiently for 4-5 months, then my skin gets used to it. So I have to change products for 2-3 months, then go back to using Proactive. I was getting sick of this cycle and I found that it was really drying out my skin.
My sister is really into natural and paraben free products and she came up with a solution for me: sea salt and baking soda scrub. It’s literally the best face scrub I’ve ever used (cheaper too!) and you aren’t putting any harsh chemicals on your skin. It’s a great exfoliant, and depending on your skin type, you can add certain things to it to cater to your specific problem.
I use the scrub twice a day (right when I wake up, and before I got to sleep) and put moisturizer on straight after. I can see such a change in my skin.
Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup coarse sea salt
– 1 tbls baking soda
If my skin is feeling dry, I would add some honey to it. This scrub also double as a face mask if you add avocado and/or soaked oats. If you chose to do this, add 1/4 cup of avocado to the mix and/or 1/4 cup soaked oats. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes, and when you rinse it off, make sure to scrub your face before to get the full effect.
Enjoy!
