How-To Wear: Statement Necklaces
For those who know me, which you all eventually will, know that I DIE for a great necklace. Theres something about a statement necklace which holds the power to even make the simplest white t-shirt go from drab to fab; which is exactly what I love about them.
I’ve become a serious necklace hoarder in my recent years, and I don’t think that will ever change. There are so many places where you can find a fabulous statement necklace, and still have money left in the bank (which is always nice). Everywhere from Forever 21, to H&M, Zara, Topshop, and even Macy’s; you can find amazing statement pieces to fit your budget. Now don’t get me wrong, there are some designer exceptions to which I’ll pay the hefty price tag, but for the most part, these stores usually exceed my expectations.
Now, there are so many options when it comes to mixing and matching a necklace with your outfit. When choosing to wear a bold necklace, it is extremely important to make sure the rest of your outfit is chic and simple. Allow for the necklace to speak for itself, you don’t want to create too many distractions within your outfit.
Here are some ideas as to how you can pair a statement necklace with pieces you probably already have in your closet:

– When wearing a collard shirt, try buttoning up the top, while tucking the necklace under the collar.
– Allow for the necklace to remain the focal point, try not to distract using other jewelry – Keep it simple.
– Go with your gut: Always remember at the end of the day that the necklace is unique to your taste, not everyone will love it; what matters is that you do.
